On March 8, 2018, people all over the world will observe International Women’s Day. It will be the 107th celebration of this global annual observance, the first of which occurred in 1911. But the roots of the movement that created the event date back to the early 20th century with the formation of the Women’s Social and Political Union, a British organization that sought to get women the right to vote. And Pantone’s choice of UltraViolet as the color of 2018 fits right in with this international observance. City Line Florist is thrilled to help people in our community honor the women in their lives with the gift of flowers.
For International Women’s Day, we’re showcasing an arrangement that incorporates the colors that the Women’s Social and Political Union chose as theirs. White is a symbol of purity, green is a symbol of hope, and purple represented the royal blood that flowed through the veins of all Suffragettes who fought to help women win the right to vote. Delicate Shades is full of those colors – and touches of yellow and peach because it’s nearly spring. We include lilies, roses, Fuji mums, solidago, dainty wax flowers, and more. The lovely colors of this delicate arrangement make it an ideal design with which to infuse a home or office space with a taste of spring.
The City Line Florist creative team is ready to help you choose a flower arrangement or work with you to create a design to give women as a gift of support for International Women’s Day.
