The lush and lavish hydrangea has a large, generous bloom. They can transform the look of any room, but are especially effective in larger living spaces . Take care, though – the hydrangea can be moderately toxic, so keep them up and away from pets and small children.hydrangea

Fast Trivia About Hydrangea – These colorful flowers grow primarily in shades of purple, blue, or pink – although variations in light exposure can cause them to be white or green as well. The particular shade for each flower is determined by the aluminum ions in the soil. If the soil is acidic, the flowers will be blue. If the soil is alkaline, the flowers will be pink. Oddly enough, when the soil is neutral, a single hydrangea bush can produce both pink ad blue flowers simultaneously.

Hydrangea need plenty of water. However, once cut, they do not have the capacity to absorb water as well. To keep them looking their best, add alum to their water to ensure against premature wilting.

Hydrangeas can be paired with many different flowers to create various looks and aesthetics. Featured above, blue hydrangea is partnered with yellow tulips and solidago for a cool summer arrangement; while the design below showcases a luxurious bed of white blooms and gorgeous fuschia calla lilies. hydrangeaThis summer, try some new flowers to decorate your home.
